Serving Tray
A minimal tray for home decor made with oak floor panels.
1. Ideation Sketches
These sketches are simple trays
made of wood,
2. Experimenting
The current stage in these photos are
solving the problem of removing the wood finish and figuring out how the planks with fit together. Methods used were router and planer
3. Glue/Planning
Using the planer, the wood finish was removed and with assistance, a table saw removed any excess wood for a flat surface for glue.
4. Oil Stain Finish
When the glue dried, I used an oil-based wood stain in the colour golden pecan and let it dry in the sun.
5. Final Product
The end design is a sustainable piece of home decor with many uses to serve snacks or on a table with candles
